I have had 2 sets of newer ones red, with tread. This would be a non issue for most users, as I climb much steeper and wetter than most folks reading this. It is also worth noting that the changeable conditions replaced summer about a month ago have washed a grit and mud onto the lanes. The Schwalbe One tire is noticeably faster and they seam to be equally as good as the Continental 4-season for puncture resistance. However, the OneStar triple compound is not only faster, it also delivers the good grip we all appreciate - and it is also more cut-resistant than previous compounds.

We submitted the One to the sternest test on one recent ride: a close encounter with a deer gripped by the sudden desire for a change of scene and choosing the middle of the road. . Since I bought 2 tires I replaced the bad tire. Schwalbe have gone into tubeless in a big way, on and off road. I have ridden all of the top end tires including many hand made high quality classic designs. Schwalbe One's consistently gave me the fastest average speed on each of three different 25-30 mile courses. .
